The Stronghold: How to Empower America to Defend Itself

Somber reflection and words to embolden America characterize this piece published two years ago, exactly.  In the memory of the fallen, my intention was to show how the altruistic and selfless notions that the political leaders and military and police top brass spout must be corrected.  I sought to instill a sense of selfishness and pride along with why American troops and police fight for freedom, foreign and domestic, respectively.  But when that threat comes to the ones who fight foreign wars comes close to home, it ought to be dealt with in the most quick and responsive manner possible.  I dedicate this article to the memory of Marines (Lance Cpl. Skip Wells, Gunnery Sgt. Thomas Sullivan, Staff Sgt. David Wyatt, and Sgt. Carson Holmquist) and one sailor (Randall Smith).  May their families be comforted by the remnants of strength and resolve that exist within the United States military police forces.

Sincerely,

S.S.
